猸愶笍 Digital Images Cheat Sheet
Helpful guide for image sizes and exports.
IN GENERAL, ALWAYS:
- Check the specific size specs for the item/page template you are editing
- Export for Web, save @72dpi
- Export at 100 KB or less. Smallest file size = always the best. Sometime you have to work at this depending on the starting size/quality of the image.
- Save as RGB.
- Naming files: Use regular words with dashes in between each word. YES = liberal-arts-center.jpg (NO = liberal arts center.jpg NO = liberalartscenter_final-edit.jpg ; NO = liberalartsimage37377388.jpg ; NO = liberalarts-2023-new-picture.jpg; NO = 256724_367.jpg)
- NO TEXT. It's not accessible, can look bad or be cropped in weird places in some instances. *very, very minimal if absolutely necessary. Think conceptually and out of the box. Look at other new sites if you are stuck.

SOCIAL MEDIA
1500 x 1500 default, just makes it easier or we'd go mad trying to size for every platform. In addition, it gives us a little bit of brand consistency and our print ads can easily transition to the format.
Platforms are different, but upload full resolution RBG here because they do their own compression.
TEXT not accessible, but we do not police on social. In addition, some things may perform better on certain platforms like instagram, w/o a lot of text.
File names - doesn't matter here.
