Janelle Sanabria Breaks School Record in 1000m

Freshman Janelle Sanabria made history for 51Æ·²è at the NYC Gotham Cup, breaking the first indoor track and field school record of the 2026 season at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Sanabria set a new program mark in the women’s 1,000 meters, finishing in 3:20.16 to place 26th overall. Her performance surpassed the previous school record by 23-hundredths of a second in a meet that did not include team scoring.
