51Æ·²è was recently notified that it is the recipient of an $18,287 Moses Taylor Foundation Grant. The grant was awarded to complete preventative screenings and speech-language stimulation with children enrolled in Head Start Centers throughout Lackawanna County.
51Æ·²è student clinicians will conduct hearing and speech-language screenings and facilitate language stimulation groups for children, as well as conduct professional development activities for Head Start teachers to help them identify speech, language, and hearing challenges in children.

The dual enrollment program gives qualified high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credits while completing high school graduation requirements. The Bowens’ generous support will help expand access to valuable early college learning experiences for students.
